Banana Ball releases 2025 schedule; ticket lottery opens

by | Oct 12, 2024

Banana Ball released its 2025 schedule today, and if you didn’t know better, you might think it was a professional baseball schedule – especially with stops including Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park.

Starting on February 1, 2025, the entire schedule will cover a bewildering 106 games. However, a closer look at the schedule reveals that not all Banana Ball dates are created equally.

Previously, there were two teams: the Savannah Bananas and the city-agnostic Party Animals. But in 2025, two more teams will be introduced into the Banana Ball sports-sphere: the Firefighters and the Texas Tailgaters.

So now, with four teams, it’s important to take note of who you might be paying to see. Because, depending on the date and location, not all of those games will involve the Savannah Bananas. Here’s the specific breakdown:

  • Of the 106 dates on the calendar, only 72 dates include the Savannah Bananas:
    • Of those 72, 38 are against the Party Animals, 23 are against the Firefighters, eight are against the Texas Tailgaters, and three are against “The Visitors”, which is essentially the Bananas’ minor league development team.
  • 30 dates will feature the Party Animals against teams other than the Savannah Bananas:
    • 21 games will feature the Party Animals versus the Texas Tailgaters
    • Six games will feature the Party Animals versus the Firefighters
    • Three games will feature the Party Animals versus The Visitors
  • Four dates will feature the Firefighters versus the Texas Tailgaters

When you look at the breakdown by venue type, it looks like this:

  • 26 games will be held at Grayson Stadium in Savannah, the Bananas home ballpark
  • 35 games will be held in MLB ballparks (17 different venues)
  • Eight games will be held in MLB Spring Training venues:  six in Arizona (Sloan Park in Mesa and Camelback Ranch in Glendale) and three in Ft. Myers (JetBlue Park)
  • Two games will be held in NFL stadiums (Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte)
  • One game will be held at a college stadium (Memorial Stadium in Clemson, SC)
  • 34 games will be held in various minor league ballparks

No matter where you might be interested in seeing Banana Ball, you’ll want to register for the ticket lottery, which is open through November 1st. If you’re wondering, Banana Ball has sold out pretty much every stadium it’s been held in, so if you think you might want to go, you should register for the lottery. It does not obligate you to purchase tickets if you are selected, but having the opportunity to purchase tickets at face value will be better than the alternative of having to buy them off of a resale site. And this link is valid no matter what team(s) or location you’re interested in.

But note: you’re only allowed to register for one location, so try to be sure of which city/venue you might be able to attend.

There’s no information regarding when the lottery will be completed, but we will keep you posted as details are released.
