The Chicago Fire (MLS) and Chicago Stars (NWSL) announced a back-to-back doubleheader at Soldier Field this summer on Saturday, June 14th.
The Chicago Stars will play the first game of the day against the Seattle Reign at 4pm CT, and the Chicago Fire will follow at 7:30pm CT against Nashville SC. For soccer fans, that’s a pretty fun day of sports.
The even better part is this: both games are included with the same ticket. So whether you’re a Chicago Fire season ticket holder or just purchasing a single-game ticket from Ticketmaster, your ticket will include both games for the same price.
The Stars (formerly Red Stars) usually play at SeatGeek Stadium, the former home of the Chicago Fire. But as the team (and the NWSL in general) has gotten more attention, creating a high-profile event like this makes sense for both teams. Based on the Stars’ impressive attendance showing last summer at Wrigley Field, it wouldn’t be surprising if this game draws a sizeable crowd.
For those interested in even more sports that weekend, the Chicago Cubs will be hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field from June 12-15 for a four-game home series.
