Following tradition, the NFL announced today that its 2025 season opener will feature the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles playing at home against one of the biggest brands in all of sports, the Dallas Cowboys. The matchup is set for September 4th at 8:20 p.m. ET. The NFL releases the remainder of its official 2025 schedule on May 14th.
The 2025 season opener pits two of the league’s most passionate fanbases against one another. As NFC East rivals, these teams are well acquainted, but this is just the first time that they’ve squared off in Week 1 since 2000.
Eagles fans are well-known to be some of the league’s most die-hard, supporting their team through thick and thin. Last season, the Eagles averaged just under 70,000 fans per game, which equates to a sell-out every home game. Coming off of a dominant Super Bowl victory in February that prevented the Kansas City Chiefs from becoming the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Lombardi trophies, the Eagles almost certainly will continue to draw capacity crowds this season.
Unsurprisingly, tickets for this matchup are already a hot item. As of publication, fans interested in heading to Philly can get in the doors at Lincoln Financial Field in standing room only sections for $378, while the cheapest seats available are currently going for $432. Despite these prices, tickets for this matchup will likely still sell out.
The Eagles offer a wide variety of ticketing options for the 2025 campaign. Fans can head over to their site to join the waitlist to purchase season tickets. Currently, season tickets are on sale for an average of just over $2000. Additionally, the franchise has several premium seating options available, including access to lounges and suite rentals. These select packages offer fans VIP entrances, behind-the-scenes access to pre- and post-game action, merchandise discounts, exclusive parking passes, all-inclusive food and drink, and more.
For fans looking to take a roadtrip after the Eagles game, there are several options to see other games in the region. The U.S. Open wraps up on September 7th at the UTSA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. Beginning on September 5th, the Yankees also host the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium, while further south in Baltimore, the Orioles face the Dodgers at Camden Yards on the same weekend.
