Schedule Scout: New York Giants 2025
With two NFL, two MLB, two NBA, three NHL, two MLS, one WNBA, and one NWSL team, New York is the biggest pro sports market in the country. So when you’re visiting for a Giants game, there’s a significant likelihood that there are other sports going on as well.
And, of course, there are no shortage of Giants fans on the road when the team is traveling. So whether you’re coming to New York to see your team at MetLife, or following the Giants on the road, we’ve got all of the info you need to plan the best road trips.
For this Schedule Scout, we’ve included the Islanders on Long Island (20 miles), Rutgers (40 miles), and Army (55 miles), just in case you’re up for a little extra traveling.

A lot is happening in New York this weekend. Early arrivers on Thursday could catch the Mets hosting the Padres at Citi Field (1:10), and music fans could then head to Madison Square Garden to see Dua Lipa that night. On Friday, you can see Yankee Stadium in its soccer configuration when NYCFC hosts Charlotte. On Saturday, it’s Nats at Mets at 4:10, and then Chappelle Roan is playing just down the street from Citi Field. On Sunday, you can head to Newark to see the Rangers play the Devils in a preseason game, and go straight from Prudential Center to MetLife Stadium and have plenty of time for pregame festivities.

What we like
Hold on to your foam fingers, sports fans – this weekend is loaded. First, you’ve got the Ryder Cup happening all weekend at Bethpage, which is about 35 minutes outside of New York City on Long Island. If that isn’t enough, the Yankees are also at home all weekend, and there’s a crosstown derby between NYCFC and the Red Bulls. Throw in an NWSL game and some preseason hockey, and you’ll have more choices than you can get your arms around.

Same city doubleheader alert! For those Giants fans thinking about coming up to Boston for the Monday night game, heads up: the Rangers are at the Bruins on Friday afternoon (1:00). That’s an amazing opportunity to see two of your teams play in the same city on the same weekend. OR … if a four-night stay in Boston is a bit much, the Knicks are at the Celtics on Tuesday night. That would be a two-night trip instead, which may be much more feasible.

After watching the ball drop in Times Square, there’s a home Knicks game on Friday, the Devils, Islanders, and Knicks are all also home on Saturday, and the Giants and Cowboys will face off at a time still TBD on Sunday. If it’s an early game, you could meander up the road to Newark for the Devils game at 7:00 as well.

Bottom Line
If you’re coming to New York to see a game at MetLife, Week 4 is hard to beat, with the Ryder Cup outside of town, plus the Yankees at home, and a cross-town MLS derby game. And Week 16’s Nets > Knicks > Rangers > Giants > Devils lineup would be epic.
If you’re following the Giants on the road, Week 8 in Philly is a great call: Flyers and Sixers on the same day, and the Islanders are the visitors. And in Week 10, you can do a Notre Dame Stadium / Soldier Field doubleheader.
