Thinking about going to the Big Easy this fall for some football? Or are you a Saints fan planning to follow the Saints on the road? Either way, we’ve got all of the info you need to plan the best possible road trips. Want to see LSU and the Saints in the same weekend? We’ll tell you when.
For this Schedule Scout, we’ve included LSU (80 miles) and Louisiana Lafayette (140 miles). Both are drivable from New Orleans, and even if LSU plays a night game, you can still drive back to New Orleans after the game.

After that, on Saturday, it’s over to Crypto.com Arena for Kings vs. Devils. And then on Sunday, you’ll start with the Rams-Saints game at SoFi at 1:05, and then you can bolt back up to Crypto.com Arena for the Lakers vs. Heat at 6:30. What we like
In one of the busiest sports weekends on the Carolinas calendar. Thursday has football games at Wake Forest, Charlotte, and Appalachian State, while Friday sees the UNC men’s basketball team take on Kansas at the Dean Dome. On Saturday, UNC hosts Stanford in football, Clemson hosts Florida State, and there’s also a Hurricanes NHL game in Raleigh. It’s just your basic doubleheader weekend in New Orleans. On Saturday, the Pelicans will host the Pacers at Smoothie King Center, and then on Sunday, the Saints will host the Jets at noon. Easy peasy in the Big Easy.

What we like
The only thing scheduled for this weekend is the Saints-Titans game, and we don’t even have a final date or time for this one. But if you feel like a post-Christmas trip to the Big Easy, it’s a pretty safe bet that the game won’t start later than noon on Sunday (we’re just guessing that this won’t be a primetime game).

Bottom Line
If you’re heading to New Orleans for a game this season, our favorite choice is the Week 8 matchup against the Bucs, when you can see the Pelicans, LSU, and the Saints games all in one weekend.
If you’re planning on following the Saints on the road, check out Week 7, when you can go to Chicago for the Blackhawks, Notre Dame, and the Saints-Bears game. And also Week 9, when you can see both the Pelicans and the Saints playing on the road in LA.
