NFL’s 2025 Int’l Schedule Offers Travel Options for Fans

by | May 13, 2025

The NFL is once again heading abroad, only this year it’s on a scale like never before.

This morning, the league announced its slate for the 2025 season’s international games, featuring seven games in five different countries across two continents. Without a doubt, this schedule is the NFL’s most ambitious to date in its latest effort to globalize American football.

While the games have been announced, unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your opinion of secondary marketplaces) fans cannot simply log onto Stubhub or Ticketmaster and purchase tickets directly like they can in the U.S. Their best bet is to head over to the NFL’s site here that lists ticket information for each game.

This schedule offers fans excellent travel opportunities, as well as the chance to add on games from other sports to their trips, National Lampoon’s European Vacation style. Fans can easily travel in these host nations either within the same city or at least a few hours away regionally to take in the local sports action of other major sports leagues. Also, on a non-sports but still important note, from the Dublin and first London games, fans can tack on a trip to Munich for its annual Oktoberfest.

London is home to seven English Premier League teams alone: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Fulham and West Ham United. Matchups for each team will be announced on June 18. Although exact times haven’t been confirmed, there is a high likelihood that fans who attend any of the three London NFL games will have the opportunity to attend an EPL match the day before these American football games kickoff. Outside of London, other cities with EPL clubs like Manchester, Newcastle, and Liverpool are just a short train ride away.

In Berlin, Union Berlin and Hertha HSC, Olympic Stadium’s home team, compete in Germany’s highest level of professional football, the Bundesliga. Similarly to the EPL, the Bundesliga hasn’t released its official schedule for the 2025-26 season, and with fewer teams, it’s harder to say for certain that fans will have a chance to watch a Bundesliga game without having to travel outside of the capital city. As is the case with most European countries, however, traveling in Germany to Munich, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and others is pretty straightforward and inexpensive.

Madrid has some of the best football in the world as the home of La Liga clubs Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Getafe CF, Rayo Vellecano, and CD Leganés. Other cities in Spain such as Barcelona, Sevilla, San-Sebastian, and Valencia all host La Liga teams of their own for fans to go see in action, as well. This may sound like a broken record, but La Liga also hasn’t set matchups for each of its teams yet, however, fans should be on the lookout for those that fall on the weekend of November 16 to attend any one of these clubs’ matches before heading to Santiago Bernabéu Stadium for Spain’s first-ever NFL game.

Regardless of which NFL team you root for, the league’s efforts to promote the game abroad provides fans with superb opportunities to see the world and broaden their own fandom in a way they just can’t replicate anywhere else. Besides, traveling in Europe is a breeze and very affordable. There’s almost no reason fans shouldn’t try to get a little more value out of their trip while they’re on that side of the Atlantic.
