NASCAR at Naval Base Coronado set for June 2026

by | Jul 26, 2025

For the first time ever, a NASCAR street race will be held on a military installation, at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California. The event will be held on June 20-21, 2026, and it will be the first time NASCAR has visited Southern California since February 2024, when the Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum kicked off the sport’s 10-month season.

The weekend will feature races for NASCAR’s Cup, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck Series.

How to purchase tickets

There are several ways fans can purchase tickets.

Place a deposit

First, NASCAR is encouraging fans to purchase a refundable $25 deposit, which will “guarantee” them the opportunity to purchase tickets before the general public. We haven’t seen many “deposit” offers like this in sports, so it’s somewhat unusual. The good news is that if $25 will guarantee you the ability to purchase a ticket, then it may not be a bad investment if you are determined to be there.

On the other hand, we have no idea what prices will be. If that $25 deposit gets you the right to purchase a $1200 reserved grandstand ticket, you may not be so thrilled. Nevertheless, if a deposit is refundable, then there’s little downside to putting one down and seeing what happens.

Also note:

  1. According to the website, If you decide not to purchase tickets, that deposit is still refundable.
  2. If you do purchase tickets, your deposit will be applied to your ticket order.

Given all of this, there’s really no reason not to take advantage of this option, unless it is financially prohibitive.

Sign up for the presale waiting list

Fans can also join the pre-sale waiting list. This allows you to get access to tickets before the general public onsale without putting down a deposit – but also without the guarantee that tickets will be available. It’s hard to say what demand will be like for this event, so there’s no way to know how many tickets might be available to those on the waitlist.

Given that the deposit is refundable or applicable to your future ticket order, we still prefer this option over just signing up for the waitlist. However, if you’d rather not spend the extra money right now, then this is your best option.

Purchase hospitality

While information is scarce so far, it looks like NASCAR will offer a variety of hospitality packages for the races next summer. Premium club tickets can be secured by making a non-refundable deposit of $200.

More details will be released when tickets go on sale.

Purchase travel packages

Travel packages will also be offered once tickets go on sale, but details on what exactly will be provided in them haven’t been made public.

Doubleheader Digest

As always, we’ve got you covered to make your trip to sunny San Diego even more memorable. Schedules for MLB’s 2026 season aren’t out yet, but there’s always a chance that the Padres could be playing a home series on the same week/weekend as the NASCAR street race. Making the road trip north to Anaheim or Los Angeles to see the Angels or Dodgers play is also a viable option.

And don’t forget about the other sports that will be in season at that time, including MLS (San Diego FC, LAFC, LA Galaxy), NWSL (Angel City), and WNBA (LA Sparks), as well as World Cup games taking place at SoFi Stadium.

Bottom line

Fans hoping to see these NASCAR street races should either place a refundable deposit to guarantee access, join the pre-sale waiting list, or keep an eye out for when tickets go on sale to the public. We’ll keep you informed about onsale dates, as well as details regarding hospitality options, travel packages, and ticket prices as they become available.
