2024 World Series: It’s Dodgers vs. Yankees!

by | Oct 22, 2024

Well, it’s the matchup that MLB – and maybe many fans – were hoping for: Yankees vs Dodgers. Which means baseball will get some of its biggest names on their biggest stage:  Shohei, Betts, Freeman, Yamamoto, Judge, Soto, Rizzo, etc. While everyone loves a feel-good small-market team playing for the trophy – and we’ve had plenty of those in recent years – this year it’s the big-market, big-money teams who will square off in the October classic.

So … are you going? Well, if you’re a Yankees fan, we bet you’ve already looked at flights and ticket prices because it’s been 15 years since the Yankees were in the World Series. Dodgers fans have more recent success, not to mention a very recent takeover of Yankee Stadium this summer, so they know their way around the Bronx.

First, here’s the upcoming World Series schedule, which is played in a 2-3-2 format:

Game 1: Friday 10/25 at 5:08pm PT at Dodger Stadium

Game 2: Saturday 10/26 at 5:08pm PT at Dodger Stadium

Game 3: Monday 10/28 at 8:08pm ET at Yankee Stadium

Game 4: Tuesday 10/29 at 8:08pm ET at Yankee Stadium

Game 5: Wednesday 10/30 at 8:07pm ET at Yankee Stadium (if necessary)

Game 6: Friday 11/1 at 5:08pm PT at Dodger Stadium (if necessary)

Game 7: Saturday 11/2 at 5:08pm PT at Dodger Stadium (if necessary)

With the 2-3-2 format, the travel benefit goes to the road team – in this case, the Yankees – because seeing (potentially) all three games in the Bronx would require only one trip. Not to mention that there’s no hand-wringing about which set of games to go to – 1 and 2 or potentially 6 and 7.
Nevertheless, if you’re heading to either New York or Los Angeles, be sure to check out our insider guides to both stadiums, which will give you great tips on travel, lodging, transit, and ticketing.
