Dolphins to play internationally in 2025

by | Oct 25, 2024

The Miami Dolphins will be the host team for one international game in 2025. The details have not been announced, but according to a communication from the team to their season ticket holders, the team will play one preseason and eight regular season home games at Hard Rock Stadium next season, plus the one regular season game abroad.

The location has not yet been announced, but four known possibilities include Frankfurt, Munich, London, and Madrid. The NFL is expected to return to Brazil in 2025, but that has not been finalized. There are also rumors of games that may be held in Dublin and Berlin. A rumored return to Mexico City is not expected until 2026.

The Dolphins have international marketing rights in the UK, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, and Mexico, so London, Madrid, and Sao Paulo would all make obvious sense as destinations.

The already-known home opponents for the Dolphins in 2025 are the Patriots, Jets, Bills, Ravens, Bengals, Buccaneers, and Saints. The two unknown opponents will be the teams that finish in the same position from the AFC West and NFC East. Those teams won’t be determined until the end of the season.

While the other participants for international games have not been revealed, now that the Dolphins have been announced, we expect to hear an announcement about the others sooner rather than later.
