Southwest adds direct NFL flights for 2024 season

by | Jun 6, 2024

It may only be early June, but Southwest Airlines thinks that you’re ready for some football. The carrier announced 21 new flight routes today that will help connect NFL fans from their hometown to their team’s road destination. This comes on the heels of Delta recently announcing an expanded flight schedule specifically dedicated to helping college football fans hit the road.

The biggest winners from the new flights are fans in Buffalo – they’re getting direct access to five road games. Ravens fans follow with three, Steelers, Saints, Bears, and Chiefs get two, and Packers, Browns, Vikings, Commanders, and Falcons fans get one each.

Of course that’s the good news. The bad news? The prices. A quick look shows us that many of these flights are over $300 or $400 each way, and, somewhat not surprisingly, many of them are already sold out. So if you’re thinking about going to any of these games, you should head over to Southwest.com and check them out quickly. And remember: Southwest flights can be canceled without penalty, and either refunded (if fully refundable) or used for travel credit without any expiration date.
