The NHL announced today that their 2025 Global Series will feature the Pittsburgh Penguins taking on the Nashville Predators at Avicii Arena in Stockholm.
The games will be the 17th and 18th to be played in Stockholm, which is the most NHL games played in any city outside of North America. The Penguins have not played internationally since 2008, and the Predators have never played a game in Europe.
There will be two games played, one on Friday, November 14, and the other on Sunday, November 16. Avicii Arena has just undergone extensive renovations. If you’ve never seen it before, it looks like a giant golf ball that can be seen for miles away. The arena is located about five miles away from Stockholm’s city center, but is accessible by the city’s subway system, which stops right at the arena.
The NHL appears to be focusing on the local market to sell tickets, with a public onsale scheduled for 10am Stockholm time on March 26th. That’s 5am ET, which is not typically when you’d see onsales targeting the domestic marketplace. So if you’re interested in attending these games, you’ll want to mark that on your calendar and perhaps turn in a little early the night before.
No word yet on whether there will be presales for season ticket holders of either the Predators or Penguins.
