Schedule Scout: Atlanta Falcons 2025

The 2025 schedule for the Atlanta Falcons was released earlier this spring, and with it comes a plethora of travel opportunities for Falcons fans. We looked at what else is happening in the Atlanta area when the Falcons are home, or in every road city that they’re visiting, so you can see everything available to you for a doubleheader (or more) trip.
For this guide, we’ve included universities up to three hours away, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, and UAB. Some people might find these to be too much of a trek, but others will find a weekend doubleheader of college football and the NFL just the thing they’re looking for. Just be careful to check game times, since a 7pm kickoff in a place like Tuscaloosa could make for a very late night if you’re going to drive back to Atlanta for a 1pm Sunday Falcons game.

If you’re chasing minor league ballparks, you can start on Thursday, about 40 miles from downtown Atlanta at the Gwinnett Stripers (the Braves’ AAA affiliate), where they have a doubleheader starting at 5:05pm. On Friday, the Braves begin a homestand against the Mariners at Truist Park, and the Dream (WNBA) play the LA Sparks. Saturday is brimming with college football options, as Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, and Jacksonville State are all playing at home. And then Sunday, it’s NFL opening day for the Falcons. It’s a lot going on, but you can handle it!

Bottom Line
There are a wide variety of sports to choose from in the Atlanta metro area, but some road trips will require more effort than others. For college football fans who are feeling ambitious, trips to Tuscaloosa, Auburn, and Clemson are all viable, but could need some additional planning beforehand. If you’re more inclined to sit tight in the city, there’s plenty of action to see, no matter the sport.
