Schedule Scout: Minnesota Vikings 2025

The Stadium Insiders Minnesota Vikings Schedule Scout Banner

Are you heading to Minneapolis this year to see your team play at U.S. Bank Stadium? Or maybe following the Vikings on the road? Either way, we have you covered with all of the schedule info you need to plan the best possible road trips.

For this Schedule Scout, we’ve included the Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, Lynx, and the University of Minnesota, which are all located in or adjacent to downtown. Allianz Field, home of Minnesota FC, is located between St. Paul and Minneapolis, while the St. Paul Saints and Minnesota Wild are both based in St. Paul itself.

What we like

The Bears get the opening week Monday night slot, so you’ve got all weekend before that to see other stuff. On Friday through Sunday, the Cubs host the Nats, so you have multiple chances to see Wrigley Field. On Saturday night, you could either see the Northwestern football team play at their temporary lakefront stadium (which is pretty cool and worth checking out) or head to SeatGeek Stadium for the Chicago Fire (MLS). On Sunday, the Chicago Stars will also play at the lakefront stadium, so if you passed on the Northwestern game, here’s another opportunity to check that out.

Just because it’s London doesn’t mean you can’t turn your trip into a sports extravaganza! Make sure to fly in no later than Friday so you can sleep off the jetlag, and then on Saturday, you’ve got two Premier League matches to choose from in London – either Arsenal or Chelsea. Baltimore Ravens @ Minnesota Vikings, 12:00pm (NFL)
Calgary Flames @ Minnesota Wild, 7:00pm (NHL)

*All times local to game location.

What we like

We’ve got two possible opportunities. First is the easy route: fly into Minneapolis on Friday and head to the T’Wolves-Jazz game at Target Center. But, for the more adventurous, you can fly into Milwaukee or even Chicago O’Hare and drive to Madison for the night. On Saturday, the Badgers host Washington, and gameday in Madison is a great time. It’s about a 4.5-hour drive to Minneapolis, so you’ll probably need the game to be an afternoon kickoff to make it viable. But on Sunday, not only can you catch the Vikings-Ravens game at noon, you can also stick around for the Minnesota Wild playing in St. Paul at 7:00.

What we like

You can pretty much do it all in Minneapolis this weekend. On Friday, it’s the T’Wolves at home against the Kings, right downtown at Target Center. On Saturday, the T’Wolves are home again, but so is the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul (a 50-minute light rail trip from downtown). On Sunday, if you really wanted to, you could hit the Vikings-Bears game at noon, and hustle back to St. Paul for a 5:00 Wild-Knights game. Hockey in Minnesota is great, so we’d definitely suggest getting to one of the Wild games if you can.

Minnesota @ Northwestern, TBD (Wrigley Field) (NCAA-F)

Central Michigan @ Marquette, TBD (NCAA-M)

Detroit Pistons @ Milwaukee Bucks, 7:00pm (NBA)

*All times local to game location.

What we like

There are plenty of chances to see some NBA action as the Bucks play at home on Thursday, Saturday, and Monday. The easy call for Saturday afternoon is to head to Madison for Wisconsin vs. Illinois, but the college football matchup at Wrigley Field in Chicago might be worth the hike. Either way, on Sunday it’s time for the Packers vs. the Vikings.

What we like

Wait for the final schedule to be announced for this weekend. If the Huskies game gets scheduled for the evening, then you could see the Kraken take on the Oilers first at 1:00. NHL, NCAA, and NFL add up to a really solid sports weekend in Seattle.

What we like

An NFC North rivalry game with potentially huge implications for both teams’ playoff chances is the perfect way to wrap up the season.

Bottom Line

If you’re heading to Minneapolis for some football this fall, we like Week 7 when you can choose between college football or Paul McCartney. And Week 10’s option to start the weekend in Madison for Wisconsin football is one of our favorites.

If you’re following the Vikes on the road this fall, definitely check out Week 8’s doubleheader with the T’Wolves and Vikings both playing in LA on the same weekend. And Week 16’s trip to New York could include multiple NHL and NBA games.

Happy sports travels!
