Write for Us

Are you a stadium insider? Become a TSI contributor!

We are seeking freelance writers to create the ultimate insider guides for selected stadiums across the US and Canada. These guides will include content about traveling to a city, lodging, local transit, seating, the gameday experience (tailgating, food, etc.), and all other advice that people who are traveling for sports would need to plan the best possible experiences.

In order to be considered, you must live within 30 miles of the ballpark you are applying for, and have significant experience attending games at that venue. What is “significant experience”? For MLB, it’s at least 7-10 games per year over the past three years.

You are welcome to apply for NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, and NCAA top 30 FBS programs, but we may not contact you until we are ready to move forward with your specific stadium.

This is not a sports journalism position. We do not cover the event on the field (i.e. the game, the score, the stats, the players, betting/fantasy sports, etc.). This is a travel/lifestyle/experiential writing assignment that is focused in and around the ballpark.

Compensation is based on the total word count, plus an hourly stipend for specific research and content gathering (photos, videos, researching info about transit, local bars/restaurants/hotels, etc.), which will also include the need to be in-stadium and in the field on several occasions. All expenses related to the creation of this content will be covered by the company, including game tickets, concession costs, gameday expenses, parking, etc.

Why you?

We want to know why YOU are the right person to introduce visitors to your stadium!

Tell us about the experience that created your love of going to the ballpark (whatever ballpark that was for you — it doesn't have to be the ballpark you're applying to cover), or what makes you passionate about attending live sports. Please keep in mind: we are interested in the experience, not what happened on the field, although we understand that the two may be related. But "the Red Sox won and it was so exciting" or "Aaron Judge is my favorite player" or "hot dogs are so delicious" really won't do it for us. Don't look up stats — this is about the experience, not the game. Bring it to life. We will use this as a writing sample to determine whether or not you might be a good fit for us.
