For those of you who love schedule release days – and planning sports travel – this was just about the biggest schedule release week we’ve ever seen. Within 24 hours, the PGA Tour announced its 2025 schedule, the NBA released its 2024-25 lineup, and even MLB chimed in with its 2025 Spring Training schedule.
The biggest release was the NBA schedule, since it comes along with 1230 games over the course of its seven-month regular season. The regular season will start on October 22nd, and run through April 13th. Dates of interest include:
- Oct 6: Canada Series game in Montreal (Toronto vs Washington)
- Nov 2: Mexico City game (Miami vs Washington)
- Nov 12: NBA Gold Cup begins
- Dec 17: NBA Gold Cup ends in Las Vegas
- Jan 23/25: Paris games (San Antonio vs Indiana)
- Feb 14-16: NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco
- April 15-18: Playoff play-in tournament
- April 19: Playoffs begin
Meanwhile, the PGA will swing into action on January 2nd with The Sentry tournament in Maui. Other key dates include:
- Jan 30-Feb 2: Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Pebble Beach)
- Feb 6-9: Phoenix Open (Scottsdale)
- Mar 13-16: The Players Championship (Ponte Vedra Beach, outside of Jacksonville FL)
- Apr 10-13: The Masters (Augusta, GA)
- May 15-18: The PGA Championship (Charlotte, NC)
- June 12-15: The US Open (Oakmont, PA, outside of Pittsburgh)
- July 17-20: The British Open (Northern Ireland)
- Aug 21-24: Tour Championship (Atlanta)
MLB’s Spring Training will start on February 20th for the Cactus League, and February 21st for the Grapefruit League. Events of note include:
- The Cubs will host the Braves for a two-game crossover series in Mesa, AZ on March 24-25, while the Twins will host the Rockies in Ft. Myers on March 25.
- The Angels will play at Dodger Stadium on March 23, and the Dodgers will play at Angel Stadium on March 24-25.
- The Royals will play the Rangers at Globe Life Field on March 24-25
- The Guardians will play the D’Backs at Chase Field on March 24-25
- The Astros will play their AAA affiliate Sugar Land Space Cowboys at Minute Maid Park March 24-25
