The newly refurbished Field of Dreams ballpark in Dyersville, Iowa has added another event to its calendar in 2026. On October 10, the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team will take on the Kansas Jayhawks at the storied site in an out-of-season exhibition game. This will be the first time two Division I teams have played at the Field of Dreams, and the game has the added distinction of falling during harvest season—offering a chance to see the change of the seasons out on the field.
Kansas won both the Big 12 Conference and the Big 12 Tournament this past season, and Iowa reached the Big 10 Tournament for the eleventh year in a row.
Tickets have already sold out, and there is essentially no inventory on resale sites. But that could change, so keep an eye out for resale ticket options if you’re interested in attending.
Travel and accommodations
Dyersville, which is 80 miles from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, is a 45-minute drive from Dubuque Regional Airport and 95 miles from Quad City International Airport in Illinois. There are additional airports in the surrounding area, including Eastern Iowa Airport, Dane County Regional Airport, and Chicago Rockford International Airport, but they will all have much more limited service.

Furthermore, Dyersville has limited hotel options. Your next best bet is to search for a hotel room in Dubuque, 40 minutes away by car.

If the timing of the game is difficult for you or you are unable to secure a ticket, another way to see the Field of Dreams is to attend the Triple-A game between St. Paul Saints and the Iowa Cubs at the field on Tuesday, August 11. Tickets are still available for purchase here, starting at $132. That game will be followed by the MLB version on Thursday, August 13.
