The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) announced that it would be adding a seventh team to its ranks, naming Vancouver as its host city.
The league played its inaugural season in 2024, and featured six franchises across the United States and Canada:
Team | City | Venue | Max. Capacity |
Boston Fleet | Lowell, Massachusetts | Tsongas Center | 6,500 |
Minnesota Frost | Saint Paul, Minnesota | Xcel Energy Center | 18,568 |
Montreal Victoire | Laval, Quebec | Place Bell | 10,172 |
New York Sirens | Newark, New Jersey | Prudential Center | 17,625 |
Ottawa Charge | Ottawa Ontario | TD Place Arena | 9,000 |
Toronto Sceptres | Toronto, Ontario | Coca-Cola Coliseum | 8,140 |
Vancouver’s team will play at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, which has a capacity of just over 15,000. The venue will undergo renovations prior to hosting its first PWHL matchup.
The PWHL’s season runs from November through May, including the playoffs. Last year, each team played 30 regular-season games, but it is still to be determined how the schedule will change following the addition of new expansion teams.
Fans interested in being there to cheer on Vancouver’s team can place a $50 per-seat deposit for season tickets at the franchise’s website. The team’s “Premium Founding Member” season ticket options are already sold out, so we recommend getting your deposit in quickly. But note: these deposits are non-refundable, so if season tickets are not available when it’s your turn, these funds will be applied towards single-game tickets for the 2025 season.
