F1 to broadcast five races in IMAX theaters this season

by | May 29, 2026

If you missed experiencing the Miami Grand Prix live in theaters, you’re in luck: four more races are being shown on the big screen this year. In February, IMAX announced its collaboration with Apple TV to broadcast five selected F1 races live in over 50 theaters across the United States.

Showings begin 15 minutes before lights out and include F1 TV’s pre-race coverage and live commentary, along with post-race podium celebrations. For West Coast fans, watching the European races (Monaco, Silverstone, and Monza) will require being in the theater at 6 am (or 5:45 if you want to watch the pre-race coverage). If that isn’t your style, consider choosing the United States Grand Prix (held in Austin) to watch in the theater, which starts at 11 am PT, and watching the European races from the comfort of your couch.

Which races will be shown in theaters?

Five races during the 2026 season will be shown in theaters across the United States:

Miami Grand Prix: May 3, 1 pm ET

Monaco Grand Prix: June 7, 9 am ET

British Grand Prix at Silverstone: July 5, 10 am ET

Italian Grand Prix at Monza: September 6, 9 am ET

United States Grand Prix at Austin: October 25, 2 pm ET

How to get tickets

Tickets for the Monaco Grand Prix are now on sale through IMAX. Prices vary by theater location but average around $30 per person. To be notified when tickets to the British, Italian, and United States Grand Prix go on sale, you can sign up for notifications on the IMAX website
