The Women’s World Cup is right around the corner, scheduled to take place in Brazil during the summer of 2027. Now fans know which stadiums will host matches and on what dates, with FIFA releasing the preliminary schedule.

The tournament will begin on Thursday, June 24 in Rio de Janiero, where Brazil will host a Group A opponent at Estadio do Maracana. Over the ensuing 31 days, the rest of the tournament will play out in eight stadiums across Brazil, with the final right back at Estadio do Maracana on Sunday, July 25.

Here’s a look at the schedule that was released:

Each stadium will host six group stage matches. Seven of the eight will host Round of 16 matches, with only Rio being excluded (likely because they are hosting the tournament final). Four of the eight will host quarterfinals matches, including Rio and Sao Paulo, who will then also host the semifinals. The bronze final match will be in Sao Paulo on July 24, and the championship will be played in Rio on July 25.

Here are the cities and stadiums hosting games:

Belo Horizonte / Estadio Mineirao

Brasilia / Estadio Nacional

Fortaleza / Arena Castelao

Porto Alegre / Estadio Beira-Rio

Recife / Arena de Pernambuco

Rio de Janeiro / Estadio do Maracana

Salvador / Arena Fonte Nova

Sao Paulo / Arena Itaquera

What’s not known is the individual matchups or start times for each game. The only known opponent is Brazil hosting that first match on June 24 in Rio.

Next steps

The Women’s World Cup draw will take place on Friday, December 11, and the finalized schedule will be released shortly after that. So if you’re interested in seeing a specific team, you’ll need to wait a bit before you’ll know when and where they are playing. But if you want to attend one of the semifinal matches or the final, the dates are set and you could certainly book travel if you wanted to.
