Coming off of this year’s successful debut, Coronado Naval Base will once again host a NASCAR race weekend in 2027.
The race will take place on Sunday, August 1, with the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race scheduled for the day before.
NASCAR also suggested it may host an event at a different military installation in 2028, and that it could become a traveling event each year.
Next Steps
If you’re interested in attending the event next year, the first step is to place a ticket deposit. Standard reserved seating requires a $25 per seat deposit, while premium seating is $200 per ticket. You can sign up on the NASCAR website by clicking here.
After that, it’s not a bad idea to look into making refundable lodging reservations, since it could be a busy weekend in San Diego.
Doubleheader Digest
Although the Padres won’t be in town that weekend, they do have a four-game home series against the Los Angeles Dodgers from July 26-29 (Monday-Thursday). So if you’re interested in catching some baseball and can spend the long weekend, this is a great opportunity to do both events.
