Formula 1 announced a 10-year extension of the Las Vegas Grand Prix on June 4, keeping F1 racing in Las Vegas through 2037.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix, one of three Grands Prix held in the United States, joined the F1 calendar in 2023 and has been a great success since its inauguration. All three Grands Prix are extended through at least 2031, establishing F1’s presence as a major sport in the United States.
The extended partnership is beneficial for both F1 and Las Vegas; in 2025 alone, the event generated $43 million in local and state tax revenue, and the race has been sold out each year it’s been held.
So what’s special about the Las Vegas Grand Prix?
The grand prix is a street race along the Las Vegas Strip, offering high-speed, wheel-to-wheel racing past iconic landmarks such as the Sphere, Caesars Palace, and the Bellagio Fountain. With both long straights and heavy braking zones, the race often includes good overtakes, including the 2023 Overtake of the Year by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc vs. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez. The race takes place at night, with cooler temperatures that make tire and race strategy interesting.
The night race leaves you the daytime to enjoy the fanzones included with your tickets, with live music, pop-up bars, racing simulations, and more, or to explore the city of Vegas. The Las Vegas Grand Prix is also home to the finale of the F1 Academy season, featuring the 17 drivers of the all-female single-seater series.
